Stories & Insights: Meet Calle Foster
In this CanvasRebel interview, I reflected on the leadership lessons that actually stuck, the ones I didn't learn from a book or a training program but from being in the room with leaders who showed me exactly what to do and, sometimes, exactly what not to do.
After more than 12 years in corporate Learning & Development, I've had a front-row seat to what makes leaders earn trust and what makes them lose it fast. I talked about the mentors who shaped my understanding of executive presence, emotional intelligence, and psychological safety, and how those experiences became the foundation of the way I coach today.
I also got real about imposter syndrome, difficult workplace environments, and the kind of self-awareness that only comes from having your assumptions challenged by someone who sees you more clearly than you see yourself at the time.
The thread running through all of it is the work I do now with millennial and Gen Z professionals, helping emerging leaders build confidence, sharpen their communication, and develop the people management skills that make the difference between a team that tolerates each other and one that actually performs together.
If you lead people or you're working toward it, this conversation is a honest look at what modern leadership actually requires.
